Leaving Town?

Leaving town?

Here is what you need to know. We are lucky in the fact we haven't seen Paralysis Ticks and Heartworm in this region. However leaving town means your pet is at risk.

Just like we pack our bags to make sure we are protected from the sun. It is important to make sure your pet is protected against Ticks and Heartworm.

This is what you need to do -
- Ensure your pets worming is up to date.
- Check with your vet to see the last time your pet had Heartworm Protection. If never, talk to your Vet clinic  and find out the best course of action. The best protection on the market is an injection that provides year round protection.
- Purchase some Tick prevention and administer before leaving! If you have administered Tick prevention in the past check the date and product to see if your pet is still protected, if lapsed, re-administer.

We recommend -
Bravecto - For Paralysis ticks. It comes in an easy to administer, tasty chew and provides protection for 3 months.
SR-12 - For Heartworm. It comes as an injection administered by your local Veterinarian. It provides protection for a year.
Milbemax - For worming. Comes in a small tablet with a great weight range.

For more info on parasites read our blog or scroll down. For any of the above products pop into your local Vet clinic.
